Concrete curbs have a couple of use cases. They can be used to block off driveways, roadways or other areas completely, or calming curbs can be used to adjust the width of roadways to influence traffic flow. Calming curbs tend to be used in conjunction with bollards to retroactively adjust lane widths and access to adjust driver behaviour. This can be a good way to slow down drivers on wide roadways, before turns, near high pedestrian areas and anywhere else a more permanent option is required to adjust traffic flow.
